the web pillow-smothered decent desktop UIs Application development has gone backwards so much compared to the RAD tooling from the 90s. I really can't even properly describe it to the younger generation. :(

That is extremely disappointing to see as I'm in the market for a new printer and I guess Brother is no longer in consideration. :(

I am not going to pretend to be a process engineer (I am chemical engineer by education) but I can't imagine any other way to do it than as you described. Would really love for someone more knowledgeable to chime in though.

I am a chemical engineer by education and I am also part of this problem. It did not take me very long at all to figure out where the actual money is and transition to full time software development.

You aren't joking about them being unafraid of people. I was sitting out on my back deck one evening here in $RELATIVELY_BIG_CITY and had two adolescent racoons approach me and start engaging in playful behavior. One of them even ran

Sounds like they are using cgroups to enforce memory limits then? I seem to recall that being a problem with containers getting killed as well because FS cache counts against their memory limit.

Perhaps if web browsers in general returned to that crazy, old idea that ram is not an infinite resource and that I as a user should be able to set a reasonable limit on the maximum amount of ram a single web page or extension should be all
