It's interesting to note that this guy NEVER gets more than 30 hours. This is most likely to make sure the employee can't be considered full-time. I'm sure Google would rather hire 15 guys at 40-60 hours instead of 40 guys at

Please spare us the lecture on what an investor should and should not do. What someone does with their money is their choice and the consequences of what happens with that money is their consequence.

The author of the article is obviously schilling for Cleveland and other rust belt cities that no longer have the manufacturing jobs that they used to. Cleveland is one of the most heavily regulated and wasteful cities, as is Detroit. I wou

I know all too well. But, as the Paypal compliance department has told me umpteen times, their policies are not the same and are under different laws. So, eBay will let you list any physical good you want that conforms to their policy (basi

The author specifically claims that to understand bitcoin usage, you only need to look at the trading activity. That is what I'm disputing. No, you can't understand bitcoin usage without actually understanding the protocol. In you

I wouldn't say "just a tool". It's an enormously powerful tool that has backups everywhere, is not corruptible without at least 50% of the hashing power on the network, and has a consistent, decodable, verifiable format.

> Understanding the trend towards Bitcoin usage is less in understanding the caveats developer Amir Takki employs: i.e. “a pure form of money with a mathematical basis,” and more about the social behaviours of those playing the system,

The actual number of public addresses that correspond to the generated group from the elliptical curve function is not 2^256, but slightly lower, since the cardinality of the group needs to be a prime number. Hence, if it's in that sma

This is especially true of 4th down plays. A surprise play-action pass on 4th and 1 can go for an especially long gain and thus should have higher expected value. There's also the fake-punt scenario, which I suspect tends to be more su

I think statistically, if you punt from the 9 yard line, the other team is going to get excellent field position (around the 50 yard line). The difference between failing on 4th and 1 from your own 9 and the other team getting the ball arou

I can't help but think a lot of these "experts" can ONLY see from their narrow perspective. Bitcoin the protocol is just scratching the surface.

This seems a great way to steal other people's credit cards. You can literally duplicate someone's card on your "coin". Now there's a super easy way for someone working in a restaurant to get your credit card inform

Article strikes me as too much rationalization and not enough reflection. To one person, a $2500 bag may signal that you're middle class. To another, it may signal you're really bad with financial decisions. I don't think tha

"criticism is not tolerated" These are the people doing research and peer-reviewing? No wonder the quality of research is so bad. Criticism should be encouraged, not suppressed.
