Comments like these are why I'm excited about the no-code movement. So much of the past decade of tech hasn't resulted in anything tangibly better or different. It's the same mundane ideas rewritten with ever-more-complex too

ACR sourced data sells like hot cakes in the alternative data world. You can literally know what an individual (“anonymized”) person watches and when.

There's a 6.2% federal tax for a government-backed pension (social security) that may or may not be around by the time people need it. Most Americans are responsible for their own retirement funding, usually via an employer sponsored p

Has anyone considered IFTTT may be using the reddit accounts for comment vote manipulation? It obtains full scope oauth permissions that last indefinitely.

HN is always subject to astroturfing, it's just generally managed by YC directly. Ensuring positive opinion and adoption of their investments while keeping the competition soundly off the radar.

> I'd add public sector work to that list Unfortunately, working your ass off for $40k and a questionably managed pension doesn't put food on the table.

There's a lot to complain about modern web bloat but this is, absolutely, not one of the things to complain about.

It’d be nice if they restricted sponsored ads from all the fraudulent third-party sellers.

It’s incredible to me how so many people blindly trust Cloudflare to manage their SSL termination while building the apps and platforms that’ll power the next generation of online everything.

We use authorized_keys and that file is managed by ansible across our servers. Adding/removing users consists of updating a yaml file (list of tuples {username, public key, status}) and running the playbook.

PPP funds were designed for that (60% to payroll, 40% to rent/utils). However, they only provided ~2.5 months of coverage, and we're well beyond that.

I love how the justification of numerous AWS services is always "so it can scale" but if and when that scale ever happens, a new architecture is necessary because the costs become untenable.
