I've enjoyed using this site. Please make it HTTPS by default, though.

I’m scared about what will happen to my games the day that Steam shuts down. I’m trying to buy from GOG.com but their library is naturally limited

In the case of malicious chargers I believe Apple already authenticates peripherals to make data capture more difficult. If you’re unauthenticated then you will not be able to do much unless explicitly authorised. Of course, none of that ma

It’s largely down to security economics. Boot ROMs can eventually be bypassed although difficult. But the real goal is actually to make it difficult enough such that you require physical access, specialised equipment and knowledge in order

There are lots of stories about Apple’s difficult relationship with NVIDIA, e.g: https://appleinsider.com/articles/19/01/18/apples-management...

I think there have been many unsuccessful attempts to simply treat data storage as entries in a relational database. The most well known one was WinFS https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WinFS

I’d personally say that the concept of users and user groups have failed, at least on systems that have only one user.

RISC-V changes the economics of processor development. It doesn't improve security for end users.

What particularly bugs me are the false claims that say using RISC-V will make you more secure.

I'd also like to know, but I imagine that the compressed version of the RISC-V ISA would be a significant factor as code density is important for a phone.

I agree the situation with Steam is not good on Windows. It’s already in a very privileged position because it can take full control of the screen with overlays, access controllers, and silently install games, all without the user ever seei

If they manage to get SBSA support then they will need UEFI by default. Doesn't mean they couldn't use Coreboot as a first stage loader with an EDK2 payload for all the EFI bits.
