To me that sounds way too costly (especially if they need to be an x86 licensee). And managing a heterogenous platform (HW/FW/OS) is damn hard without even considering the user experience standards that Apple are proud of. I think

It's the job of the OS to make sure one process can't read the memory of another process. What you're saying is that should now be the responsibility of the JavaScript engine as well as the OS.

In the case of ARM they seem to have announced Neural Processing Units (NPUs), which looks more like a mass market TPU.

It does exist in single user environments. What about a desktop/phone that runs untrusted code? e.g. every browser that supports JavaScript.

> WSL sucked so much that I imagine WSL 2 won't be much better Why does it suck? Is it an issue of compatibility or performance? At least WSL2 will fix the former.

"Why not" turns out to have quite an expensive answer (both in silicon and runtime latency). If you just cipher using a standard algorithm like AES then performance isn't great, but adding integrity protection to it further s

The reference you're looking for is likely to be the ARMv8-A Architecture Reference Manual. For example, it mentions in multiple places "if AARCH32 is not implemented".

That EULA is specifically for the ARM RealView compilation tools, which are proprietary AFAIK. You don't need any EULA to use any of Mbed's stuff, it's all Apache licensed and can use any compiler.

One of the really nice outcomes of this approach is that it allows you to use different optimisation levels. Other approaches try to bypass the compiler by verifying the generated binary against the semantics of the source code (treating th
