It's actually not recommended to keep your 2FA tokens and passwords at the same place (i.e. your 1Password vault). The whole point of 2FA is the separation (something you _know_ and something you _have_).

Does 1Password 7 actually support buying a license instead of a cloud subscription? You mentioned a "free version" using local Dropbox sync –that was definitely not free in 1Password 6 as that's what I'm doing right now.

Correct, they do not have overseas data (at least in China). However, GitLab's restriction also prevented them from employees moving to China as well. Many companies employ people in Asia/Europe timezones as a night-time on-call e

It was unreasonable. 1. You can build systems in a way that every access is strictly logged and audited. 2. Many companies like Facebook or Google employ engineers who could be possibly spying for Russia or China. But the systems and trust

I am not convinced that an app like that would share potential pregnancy data with ad networks, if there’s even such a channel to begin with. It would be good to have the app’s name, and investigate if this is reproducible. Without that we’

I can't help but think the author has recommended (1) storing backup keys (presumably in 1Password?) (2) storing OTP key generation QR codes in 1Password, so it can generate OTP codes for you. Doesn't this defeat the whole purpose

Related: NASA has previously done some work with Kubernetes and Docker containers. https://www.nas.nasa.gov/SC17/demos/demo29.html It has happened on the ground, however.

Regular reminder that Docker Hub is not really an enterprise registry with an SLA. You should use pretty much anything else for serious applications that rely on pulling images in the hot path (such as auto-scaling up).

It wasn't all that obvious or popular back in 2012. Many of these patterns have become more popular since then, also in part due to articles like this.

A Microsoft acquisition made so much sense around 2015 from talent and developer mindshare perspective, not so much anymore. All of Docker’s tech is commodity at this point. Their enterprise offerings still address a niche market, but Kuber

And the Islamic State is finished with this strike? I urge you to take a closer look at U.S. drone strike programs and how effective they are. It's closer to 0 than it is to 100%. The U.S. takes no responsibility for its actions in the

Technically an OCI image, and there’s nothing relevant that is mentioned in the original article in your argument, and you can run the resulting image without docker so I think at this point your argument sounds like random blabber, sorry.

Please explain. You can build images using Bazel with distroless as the base image. Similarly I think Jib/ko use distroless images without needing a docker engine.

Nearly all points (daemon-less runtimes, daemon-less builds) the author has mentioned has been addressed by open source ecosystem in smaller standalone projects that are available. Docker provides a nice high-level layer for the end user on

Hmm they usually recommend flaxseed oil for seasoning cast iron skillets. It seems like its smoking point is very low, and recommended seasoning temp is around 400-500'F. Wouldn't something like avocado oil be better?
