Whether a standard has adoption or not is a perfectly good consideration when deciding whether to implement it.

Can you provide stats on "Clojure's impressive adoption"? By my understanding it's still a very niche language. The TIOBE index [0] fwiw (please debate) suggests by going from JS to Clojure you'd be switching from t

Well going further than that, on Facebook, for a lot of people the majority of their 'friends' are school friends (for younger people often their entire school year, even the years above/below), and extended family, people th

re-frame might be technically interesting, but you're switching to writing in a lisp, which is a very niche choice. That's not going to be an overall win for many people.

You haven't written HTML emails (cross-client) if you think Bootstrap' s grid and the kind of HTML you have to write for emails are comparable. There is no such thing as Bootstrap div hell, that is utter nonsense. If you used Boot

Hehe, thanks for replying. We're pretty hyped about Blue Ocean, and have it installed already, just eagerly awaiting for it to have all the functionality of the Jenkins of old, best of luck to you with it :)

Honestly yeah I'd like to hear this answer. For a wiki especially, our team spent ages searching for one that was hosted, private and searchable. Confluence seemed like the only thing with a decent search. Major drawback of Confluence

This probably doesn't need saying, but seems you work in toxic teams. Your first paragraph suggests a ton of blame is being thrown about. If you work at a company like that, get out. (That of course, or you suck at empathy for your man

Bamboo (cloud) is end-of-lifed so you might want to reconsider that purchase! (Pipelines is their new alternative). (Yes you could buy the Bamboo self-hosted thing, which they're still supporting, but it's clear where their effort

Counterarguments: The older libraries (that caught on) are still perfectly fine to use. There's no reason you can't still be running an Express.js app with Backbone.js + RequireJS (for modules) in the front-end. We have a Backbone

Convenience. The 'only a couple of clicks/taps' of GGP assumes user wants to fire up their device and go to Amazon. It's undeniably easier to ask Alexa to order it, for repeat orders at least e.g. the dish soap example.

Cool, I hear you but Jekyll actually comes with a very minimal theme (when you 'jekyll new my-site'). Heavy 3rd party themes aren't really the fault of Jekyll.

It's great you built your own tool and workflow that suits you, but there's no need to declare things 'bloated', just because they include things you don't want to use. That's your opinion. Its defaults suit

With Bootstrap you can just pick the parts you need (so there is no practical 'overhead'), and most sites will at the very least need a responsive grid, and Bootstrap's (3's at least) is excellent. I don't know why
