Same as Apple - when they were almost dead they had to use and contribute to open source projects and treat the customer fair. Nowadays they are making it clear all iThings out there belong to Apple and working hard to wall Mac OSX as well.

IMHO the C# team made the right decision. What you're suggesting is a very leaking abstraction. Running stuff by default on the current thread is a sure recipe for deadlocks.

Very interesting investigation. I heard somewhere that the Apple lightning cable, that comes with newer iPod, iPhone, iPads contains a chip and we'll be very hard to replicate (by Chinese cloners). Any insight on this?
