This is worth it even just for removing the so annoying play on scroll behaviour! I have YouTube Premium and still feel the need for it. Also, $2 feels just right for these medium effort apps. Unfortunately people still complain about it no

Well then I guess this app isn’t for you. This app speeds up my workflow and if it helps others too then I’m happy I could share it with them.

When you know your apps and have few of them opened, of course, Command Tab is enough. I did my work with Command Tab only, for about 4 years. But I reached a point where I have so many different apps open that I have to spam the Tab key mo

Developer of rcmd here. I like Contexts too! I've used it heavily for about a year. But it still felt it needed too many key presses. And it also required me to visually assess if the selected app is what I want. rcmd is a better appro

Developer of rcmd here, thanks dmoro for sharing this! If you used Windows before, you'll be familiar with Win+Number to switch to the apps you see in the taskbar. rcmd is kind of like that but better. You don't have to count apps

Just happened again [0] and no amount of app killing helps. I ran heap(1) on WindowServer [1] but there's nothing in there standing out so maybe this is a red herring. [0] https://cln.sh/A7YPLN [1] https://g

It is virtual memory, the real memory size is usually sub 1GB. But I just can’t find any other culprit, and killing WindowServer is the only thing that helps. I have no idea how to troubleshoot this and don’t really have time for it when wo

I just ordered the M1 Max with 64GB RAM because I'm constantly getting the "Your system has run out of application memory." popup while working on Lunar[1] in Xcode. Every time this happens, Xcode uses about 4GB of RAM (proba

Thanks for doing and sharing this! It has been really helpful to finally have virtual displays that respond to CGDisplay methods when developing Lunar ( https://lunar.fyi ) It also helped in unearthing some bugs apparently. [0] [0

I did some programming around light sensors calibrated to match human eye sensitivity, so I’m very much aware that outside sunlight (>50k lux) is much brighter than a monitor backlight (<1k lux measured at a distance of 30cm). But I c

It’s very nice that you do that! I find apps that don’t trim the whitespace for the email field so annoying in terms of UX. I usually use a Text Replacement shortcut to fill in my emails (e.g. “gml” fills in my GMail address, “cld” my iClou

Yes, you won’t see that happening when buying on Apple app store because they don’t share your email. I was mostly talking about avoiding Paddle as a payment processor, the app store isn’t a payment processor so we can’t really compare them

I’ll keep a close eye on your work then! I don’t have an M1 Mac Mini to do more thorough tests, but one Lunar user reported that the DDC set brightness command worked for a short second on the initial connection of the monitor. So from that

I thought it must be something related to the DisplayPort transport. I noticed in ioreg that the HDMI AppleCLCD2 had downstream=HDMI upstream=DP as its transport params. So its possible that it isn’t DCP related after all, the mcdp29xx chip

I wonder if Alyssa (or other devs that took a deeper look at the DCP) have any idea why the builtin HDMI port of the Mac Mini would not send DDC messages to the connected monitor. I’ve been struggling with this in Lunar ( https://
