The iOS Gmail app has increased in size to 140MB at the last update. I'm on a 16GB iPhone and I've noticed app sizes slowly increasing over the last two and a half years that I've had my phone. I have to keep an eye on app si

Common convention doesn't make it automatically readable. Every modern language should strive to be user friendly. Gone are the days when we were constrained by hardware limitations which caused us to adopt such practices in the first

That's besides the point. Go and Rust developers still use abbreviations unnecessarily everywhere.

Then use another word; 'defect' and 'fault' are two acceptable synonyms I managed to look up in less than a minute.

Naples is based on Ryzen which, if you look at early benchmarks, is beating the competition on all fronts except gaming (suspectedly due to software optimisation and motherboard issues).

Sorry if I'm missing something, but why do you care about supporting other browsers? Isn't VSCode built on Electron which is a self contained server/browser environment?

I actually can't name anything better. I was just saying that whilst VS is "the best", the best isn't really that great (without a plugin from Jetbrains)...

Although the last version I used seriously was VS2013, VS on its own is pretty mediocre. With ReSharper though, nothing beats it in my opinion. On the other hand I've been using Eclipse and IntelliJ for the past year. Eclipse is not ev

I'm relatively new to investing and started a year ago. $AMD was one of the companies I chose to invest in last December. I'm up 100+% (in GBP) on my AMD investment right now and planning to hold for another year. If Zen and Vega

Sure, having competing standards isn't always a good thing but we're not talking about a standard here. It's a new router firmware distribution and I think having more of them is a good thing as it gives people more choice. T

As an OpenWRT user it's a little worrying to find that many of the developers have left the project. Do you have any more info on why this happened?

Interesting to see an article like this show up on the HN frontpage at a time when Bitcoin supporters are pumping and dumping other crypto-currencies on the major crypto exchanges. Seems like a co-ordinated effort to make a quick buck.

So charging for an IDE which requires hundreds of thousands of man hours of development and maintenance means they're evil and you won't use their products, open source or otherwise? Got it.
