The FSF is deceiving themselves and others by believing that just because a user no longer has the ability to update firmware on a device, that device is acually no longer running non-free code. I really do not understand what is so hard t

The factors that actually impact the upper boundary of achivable security are availability of source code (open or not) and reproducible builds. The 4 freedoms do not actually affect any aspect of security, they are orthogonal. Also, just b

Security is part of protecting your freedom from being compromised. I read this entire thread and wholeheartedly agree with marcan_42. FSF's position to draw a line where none exists is foolish wishful thinking and potentially dangerou

Serverless is further towards the OPEX end of the axis because OPEX is generated and then payd whereas CAPEX needs approval first. With serverless you no longer need to request approval for new instances. The harder the management believes

Awesome project. A open source alternative for 3dconnection 3d mice would really be nice to see. It looks quite different in style of interaction compared to 3dconnection mice. I do not believe it is truly 6DoF. Instead I believe it is 3DoF

Qt apps actually integrate great with plenty of hosts. VLC, Krita, Kate, Kdenlive, etc. work great on Gnome & XFCE & Cinnamon & LXDE & Mate and on Windows and Mac too, and of course on KDE. Maybe not native great but still g

I can not have any sympathy for Gnome as long as it keeps breaking extensions and any other form of customization. Pure Gnome is not great for me. Gnome could be, but if any fix I apply will inevitably break, it simply isn't something

Yes, it can be done. But as everyone here said, there are trade-offs. Most companies judged the tradeoffs to not be worth it at this point. This might change in the future. I would say that they are right, because right now battery tech is

I believe the reason Tesla gave up is because it requires a lot more infrastructure (expensive) than superchargers and is mechanically hard to implement (though they did show working solutions). Also, it is a logistic pain since all battery

For one point I do also believe that adding sum types would be great. Even if the only benefit is eliminating 3-value-logic, it is a huge benefit. I also agree that while it can be modeled it is very ugly, though I wouldn't necessarily
