I'm not sure if this is true, but I was told that it was because Cadabra sounds too much like "cadaver".

You make a very good point: not everybody has a large screen TV. Also, the Wii-mote has accessibility problems: while it may be great for gamers, it's not so good for people with limited dexterity. Maybe using a scroll-wheel, like the one o

TV remotes are famously bad, like you said. I think a good solution would be to use a Wii-like remote, that just has a handful of buttons on it. Put the common options (volume, on/off, last channel, menu) on the remote, and everything else

For 2001 through 2009, I said "oh one", "oh two", etc. Now, with 2010, I can't say "oh ten", because it doesn't sound right. The next best choice is "twenty ten", which is much more verbose.

They are pretty amazing, although the foam tips they came with wore down. Need to buy some replacement ones.

I have a pair of these, bought about a year ago for ~ $170, from Amazon. Still a good deal though.

I went to the site and clicked on the "chat live on visitrs" link in the bottom right corner. I got a tiny pop-up which was blocked by Firefox's popup blocker. I think there are ways to fix this so the pop-up does not get blocked when click

Thanks for the info (I'm one of the co-founders of PagerDuty). Which PayPal product are you using? Website Payments Pro? We'd like to chat with someone who's gone through the process of setting this up already. We are also trying to evaluat

Also keep in mind that your estimates may be way off (on the optimistic side). For my startup, we initially thought the idea would take 2 weeks to do. In reality, it took closer to 3 months. In my case, once we started working on the idea,

I would be more interested in seeing the initial frontpages of newer services (launched in 2004 or later). It would be interesting to see how various companies have followed the principle of "launch early and iterate". It's harder to tell w

What about in the signature? I usually don't put any titles in the actual email itself. In the signature, I sometimes go with Co-founder, other times, just put the company name.

Probably by making and selling add-on tools for Microsoft products: http://www.red-gate.com/ My guess is that they have some office space and cash to spare (it's probably not all that expensive to run such a program). Plus, they're going

Thanks for the feedback pradeepgatram. We are planning to add the ability to integrate PagerDuty with external products (most likely products in the monitoring space). Please send me an email to alex[at]pagerduty[dot]com if you'd like to kn

Hi sokoloff, thanks for the feedback. We actually support having the same email address for multiple alarms in the system. We also have regex trigger rules for each alarm, which are based on the subject and/or body of the trigger email. Thi

Yes, we do support custom escalation times. You can set the amount of time that the Primary on-call has to respond to an alert (after which it is escalated to the secondary). Likewise, you can set the time that the Secondary on-call has to

I'm not sure how that would work. Would you be charged $10 each time an alarm is triggered and you get SMSed or phoned?

Integration with a ticketing system is a great idea. We are thinking of adding support for Lighthouse, so you can coordinate, document and work with other people on resolving triggered alarms.

Thanks for the feedback scott_s. I thought the left middle side of the page was a pretty standard position for the feedback link; I've seen a lot of other sites that do this. I do like the idea of making the design more minimal. I guess we

We don't have a FROM check at the moment. I'm not sure how helpful this would be, since it can be arbitrarily spoofed by an attacker. The email addresses for alarms are editable; if you get spam to one of these addresses, you can change the
