Very, very cool. It "feels" great to use it - the lines look smooth and satisfying to draw. I can see this being a lot of fun to use for random doodling. The simplicity is also great - it does exactly what it needs to, and no m

Does anyone know how installing Mavericks affects hard drive space? I'm running on an 128GB SSD and space is always at a premium for me.

So it sounds like the problem isn't actually storage, but cataloguing and retrieval? This might make more sense as an in-house service somehow, rather than something that involves shipping and the associated costs.

I strongly, strongly disagree. You can approach programming as a craft, and immerse yield in tools, techniques, concepts and so on. Or you can approach it as a means to an end, which is creating an app, website, service, etc, and just look

Well, that's the problem with dynamic languages, isn't it? The distinction can get a bit blurry. http://ruby-doc.org/core-2.0.0/Array.html vs. http://api.rubyonrails.org/classes/Array.ht

While reading this article, keep just one thing in mind: think back to every "teenagers these days" article you saw back in your teens, and how closely it actually reflected your own experience as a teenager.

Well, still (or perhaps even more so) - if they considered something like chat rooms to be as essential as many users feel, it would have been easier to implement earlier rather than later, when there are more products to support. Then agai

That kind of preconceived notion isn't doing you any favors. I'll agree with you most of the time (DS was actually the first, and so far only game I played with a controller), but just like keyboard + mouse is inherently a better

Ah, yes... the PC version should come with a giant red warning that says "DO NOT ATTEMPT TO PLAY THIS WITHOUT A CONTROLLER". There's still a learning curve even with a controller, but once past that the controls have a beauti

"5 years old" is a pretty far cry from "absolute latest". My 2008 Core2 Duo MacBook, upgraded to 5GB of RAM and an SSD, works like a champ for iPhone development. I don't understand this complaint.

Still disagree - when I see a mockup like that I assume it's all fake, including the user names. The surprising part isn't that the tweets are fake, but that the usernames are real.

Why is that really sad? More people need food than games. More people want to make games than sell street food. The food business is brutally hard work, and I have a lot of respect for anyone doing it (well). There's no a priori reason

No one ever reads blog posts titled "Decent books worth reading for some people" or "Mildly useful advice that applies in certain situations". The format of the web and sites like HN and Reddit almost forces hyperbole.
