Human manufactured Wooden objects are not found in remote places on earth. Tiny specs of wood are definitely not found in bodies/blood of humans including infants. Single use wooden items don’t cause flooding and damage wildlife. These

Some people do. 1. Reduce plastic consumption as much as you can. 2. Use reusable bags 3. Choose packaging that contains less plastic. This is truly horrible in the US. Apple sauce containers for kids have so much unnecessary plastic. I m

Unpacking a competitor app and poking around private APIs to reverse engineer implementation is a liability landmine. Ask your company’s lawyer. Finding and disclosing a security flaw isn’t even needed for this to be a problem. You’re immed

This is still problematic. This runs the risk of IP theft claims. Additionally when you download and use any app, there’s probably somewhere in the TOS about not trying to reverse engineer anything. You’re probably breaking that at minimum.

This is the part I’m stunned about. So many in this thread don’t see the liability of unpacking a competitors app and poking around their APIs. Forget CC fraud. This opens up liability for IP theft. Even if the other company doesn’t win the

So the account is fake but the person and the incident are real? Is that the claim here or is everything fake? What is the author asking not to take at face value? I read the article and I’m still confused.

Unrelated to the news but related to the site- this is the worst cookie management UI I’ve seen so far. Took me a while to scroll through all on mobile. I feel like I saw more settings there than in an OS settings app.

Well PMs who used to be devs like you end up being very effective in my experience. They really ‘get it’. Add in high agency and you get a very potent person the team can rally behind.

Microsoft does this and IMO is one of the reasons their products are lackluster at times. There are other reasons but this is definitely one of them. The PM role is spread so thin they don’t have enough time to boil down seemingly related p

This is one of those rare articles that points to the need of good Product Managers. As a PM I’ve seen my fair share of “PMs are useless waste of space”. The article doesn’t directly talk about PMs but the role of gathering AND properly una

I washed my old toothbrush. It gathers toothpaste gunk if not properly washed. It worked just fine for a decade. The motor finally gave up. No way is this new tooth brush going to last me 10 years. And people making excuses - do you know th

Think about it - my last tooth brush lasted 10+ years. Would it have if it wasn’t water proof?

Unfortunately no. ^That’s the one I have. OralB and Phillips are the good ones and both do this battery not replaceable nonsense. My 10+ year old OralB had a replaceable battery and it worked fine and had no issues with water safety even t

This ( https://toothbrushbattery.com/guides/braun-oral-b-profession... ) is why we need laws such as this one.

by aldebran 5y ago
The disaster is caused by the implementation not the law. This is needed in the US too. I just bought an electric toothbrush to replace a very old one. My old one is 10+ years old. Has easily replaceable batteries. New one? Nope! Manual say

Generally probably true. They find new ways though. My friends in the US needed H1B stamping appointments that are near impossible to find. Apparently there are “agents” who you give your username and password to and they can get you an app

Many people feel the same. Some who are able immigrate to western countries where corruption is not a overt. Except the US where it’s just legal through campaign contributions and what not. Lol Jokes apart, in your day to day life you don’t

Go to your local Indian store in April/May. That’s mango season in India. Get yourself “Alphanso” or “Kesar” variety of mango. Thank me when you and your family enjoy it. Good luck! (You’ll need it. People will fight for those mangoes

This is probably because of 1. You have Bluetooth on all the time 2. If BT is off, the tag isn’t moving at all (including drawer moving open shut)
