If you like what you do who cares? If you don't, find a different job?

Smiling is not pretending to be someone's friend. Seriously, if this all sounds like alien talk, you should see a counselor or therapist.

I can't blame them. I'd imagine tons of people try to replace perfectly fine drives - "I can't find my spreadsheet so drive is bad" "Windows updates were slow so drive is bad" "I bricked my drive tryi

Idk, wordle isn't really new and isn't something you should be able to own. It'd be like claiming to own tic tac toe or rock paper scissors. It's just too simple imo.

"train a biological algorithm" is actually a pretty good description of what humans are doing (vs calling it intelligence).

What exactly is his point here? What the hell is measuring software? We don't have a biological software sense, so his analogy doesn't make sense to me from the get go. Software has many different uses and many things that can be

Huh. I really don't see the appeal of that aesthetic. To me it just looks poorly done, not vintage. If it's actually trying to be vintage, it misses the mark.

That makes sense, all this talk of VHS copy protection in this thread, I never knew this existed. Apparently my parents had cheaper VCRs because I never had any issues copying a tape.

In addition to what you said, these things will shit out in a couple years. Button breaks, cord goes bad, etc. You pay for the quality.

I've never experienced a Spotify outage in the 5 years I've been using it and I use it daily. Not once.

I have issues with Plex regularly with file formats not playing nice, incorrect box art, content being labeled completely wrong, and random server hangs. It's OK, but I wouldn't say it's more convenient than Spotify. With Spo

No one is complaining about pleasantries, it's the fact that you're presenting nothing to start with. Just say "Hey, good morning. <Question>?" I'm going to ignore a greeting with nothing following if I'm

VPN is easier to set up, manage, and troubleshoot. Connect to LDAP, set up groups, flip the switch, done. You'll have to use it for vendor or 3rd party access anyway, so may as well use it for the rest of the org.

It definitely is enough. I don't know where the myth that looking at lead kills you started, but unless you are eating it or breathing it in (soldering is not hot enough to vaporize lead) there's nothing to worry about.

Now this is some top tier virtue signalling, good lord, get over yourself. Killing a couple bugs in your house is perfectly fine. Parent even tries to let them out and that's not even good enough for you because they might harm a god

And that's something completely different. Language and music use similar parts of the brain, but you're just mashing audio perception together in a way that just isn't related and is not what the article is talking about.

Eating a few bags of candy isn't going to do it. It's going to take years and years of constant exposure. People in this thread need to calm down. Even if you did lose 5 IQ points, it's not like Flowers For Algernon here... N

Why does someone that listens to classical hear harmonics (I'm still not sure whether you mean tonal harmonies or harmonics aka timbre) better than someone who doesn't? Sure, maybe they'd be better at picking out a bassoon in

Right, my point is that it's as solved as it can really be as far as human understanding is concerned. There are too many variables at play to have any sort of elegant solution like Ohm's law or calculating an orbit. The best we c

That's fair, but every one I've worked with has been closer to an accountant than a decision maker. They will certainly have reccomendations, but they generally don't steer the way a product is offered or monitized.
