I don't get the whole kerfuffle - the people that are most likely to get pissed off over the "dying platform" verbiage are the exact opposite of the target demographic anyway. If you're happy with your blogging platform of choice, then you'

That's actually pretty huge all by itself - I got a YC interview from making a demo of that feature alone at a startup weekend last year. http://gosnoozemail.com It had a few other features too and I ended up having to defer the interview

The video is in the lower right, titled "The Tokyo Electric Taxi Project begins" and it's pretty impressive. Apparently cabs in Tokyo are 2% of the car population but produce 20% of the pollution, so they're attacking a big problem.

Easier to stock up on extra batteries at a recharge station, harder to stock up on extra cars. I'm personally thinking of the one use case that keeps me from buying an EV car - driving from SF to LA to see in-laws. And that's only if my wif

They're not meant to be replaced by hand - it's an automated process that swaps the batteries after you pull the car into the proper position, sort of like pulling into a car wash.

This attacks something that user researcher Steve Portigal calls "solutioneering" and the phrase has stuck in my head since I saw his ixdasf talk last year. He led the audience through an exercise to show a typical client project, where we

This is a nice little starter intro to CSS for forms. To be really useful, it'd have to demo some of the harder elements to style, the hardest being inputs for uploading files. I haven't seen a technique yet that doesn't require some javasc

I really like this trend of Posterous-inspired web apps that don't require setting up an account, just emailing into a public email address. It's what changed my mind from "eh, looks nice, might try it later when it's more robust" to "oh wh

This is a great demonstration of why to use CSS3 animations - Flash doesn't support the concept of graceful degradation. This page turns into a static image in Firefox/Mac instead of borking out with a blue lego piece.

Their constant battle with vaporware of various stripes isn't with only one company - some of the competitors ship but slip way behind on dates and/or release hurried crappy releases, some don't ship at all and make true vaporware demos, bu
