By coding. That may come across like a smart-ass answer, but it's not. I'm in the same boat, and I'm learning the same way. I've got a Mac dev environment, and Linux dev environment. I'm using a book by Stephen Kochan, and another by Dave M

Probably mostly/only because of curiosity (due to this HN post) and not because they're there from hearing about your project/story/product/service (take your pick - since as the site currently stands... it's very unclear)... In my opinion,

I couldn't disagree more. Only because of the fact that those restaurants more than likely didn't just open their doors and people came. They had to do some marketing first. You will, as well. If you think if you simply build the site, and

This assumes that you're doing more marketing of your service than you are coding of it. Otherwise, how will the general public know who you are, what you're about? Putting this info on the homepage almost seems like free marketing, in a se

Hmm... I think I disagree with this approach. This assumes $USER already knows what your service is about, before they get to your home page. If that's true, then no problem. If not, how do they know what they're signing up for? How do they

I'm wanting to learn C, like you did... I'm very interested, but wouldn't I be too far behind for it to be productive for you guys?

I wish that Dropbox would allow remote work. And I say this because I love the product. I'm just not at all interested in living in California.

I think it's an excellent idea. However, the app never worked for me. I've got an iPhone 4 with the latest firmware, and just after opening all it does is crash.

I couldn't disagree more strongly with this sentiment. Marriage is built on trust, and with a pre-nup agreement, you're starting out with the premise BEFORE YOU'VE EVEN MARRIED ... that 'this is how we divorce'. BAD IDEA. If you don't trus

I have a Mid-2009 17" MBP with 8GB of RAM in it, and one of the Seagate Momentus XT drives in it. Since I'm already accustomed to the weight, and carrying a book or too with me all the time, or my iPad... weight argument is moot. I'd get mo

IRC is one of the best ways to communicate. There's a lot to learn, and a lot to be taught. Sometimes the best experience can be had by just reading what other people write. For example... Erica Sadun is in #iphonedev and #ipaddev on Freeno
