The part about the soup kitchen... I thought about that. One thing I'd caution on this, is check your motives. If you're going to check the box, okay, I'm a good person because I do this... you've lost. Start over. Truth

I'm going to be short and to the point, and hope you will take it well. I mean the best, as I myself have been in this place. Based on what you wrote, it seems like you are only focused inward, on yourself. Figure out a way to focus on

I'll go against the grain here. I think moving is better than just standing. I'd get a treadmill desk. Lifespan Fitness makes a treadmill that goes under a desk, and then you can use whatever desk you want. In my configuration, I

Four things: 1. Spend more time with my family. 2. Work on getting more healthy. 3. Help folks coming out of incarceration learn how to get on their feet, and thrive. 4. Study foreign languages.

I would recommend the #freelance community on Slack. It's not free, but I find it well worth the subscription price ($49/yr) http://freelance.chat It's been helpful for me, and paid for itself. I've gotten to

Hi Patrick. More value bombs as usual. Thank you, sir. Impostor Syndrome. Have you written more about it elsewhere? It's been crippling at times. That said, I was recently very surprised to learn of a couple folks who I consider way

Would you care to put an email or other contact info in your profile, in case someone wants to reach out to you? I see someone also mentioned Patrick (patio11), you would do very well to follow his advice. TONS of value in his stuff.

Is it just you to consider, or do you have a spouse and children? If it's just you, I'd do as one person suggested, rent a room and live as cheaply as you possibly can. Financial independence is going to require sacrifice on your

I think this is part of David Allen's rationale behind the "Getting Things Done" book/methodology. If you've organized your to-do list in even a rudimentary fashion, that takes some of the cognitive load away.
