Consider yourself lucky! We had some boring and entirely too basic OOP-y course (with Java, of course). I'm reading SICP now (this beautiful PDF version: https://github.com/sarabander/sicp-pdf/blob/master

I'm usually pretty anti-ORM and actually like low-level SQL interfaces (I guess because I did a short stint as an Oracle developer once, once you see what can be done with some custom SQL...). But for a recent sideproject of mine, I re

Even though I barely touch windows these days, when I do, I invariably use "everything" ( http://www.voidtools.com/ ) to find where everything is. So fast, so minimalistic. It's like locate on crack (because it

Don't really have a use for this but kudos! When I jumped into my current project, I made a point of going with nginx 1.4+, for the websocket support, which really simplifies the stack. It just feels good to have less moving parts.

I think an easy visual upgrade to get rid of the jaggies would be to (optionally) turn on MSAA (multi sample anti-aliasing). It doesn't drop the lo-fi look IMHO but still looks ways better. MSAA is real easy to enable, create your wind

I already had done so, but it makes me feel even better about dropping node for go. Not just because of the increased sanity go brings to my codebase (no more callback hell, which frankly was a mess even with node addon libraries). Now I ca

I think it's a bit ironical that you seem to be acting "butthurt", threatening with internet mobs and such (and the gloomy prospects of someone losing their job if they don't bow down to your pressure).

I routinely read "she" in documentation to refer to the developer/user. I notice it the first time it appears in a text and then I don't anymore, it doesn't bother me in the least.

according to antirez, redis does not (and will not) support LuaJIT. Even though at one point there was someone who had got it working. From experience I know that replacing Lua with LuaJIT, even in a statically compiled project, is quite ea
