There is something fishy about selling a product with 0% APR - it means as a consumer you're actually WORSE off if you DON'T get the loan (since you would earn interest on the cash in your account). Forcing people to borrow when

Congrats! But IMHO, the very fact that this exists shows how broken current web design tools are. Designers are still using Illustrator-style vector graphics tools, as if they are creating print material. Graphic design is not UX design.

Great news, building Tensorflow with GPU support for mac was a nightmare last time I did it. Anyone knows if Anaconda works well on M1? Just need Homebrew & Docker support for M1 now.

A matter of time until Apple releases a ChromeBook competitor - a cheap plastic laptop for schools/students, similar in spirit to the iPhone SE, perhaps running on A14 instead of M1, and a 12" screen. This would be great for mark

Alternative end game: the browser dies slowly, gradually being replaced by native apps. We're already seeing this: consumers prefer native apps on their phones for virtually everything: shopping, socialising, reading news. Surely the f

According to the website, V seems to have two backends: C and x86 - so it's not just a frontend to GCC. Unless I'm mistaken?

I don't think the comparison to Theranos is accurate. Nikola may be overvalued, but they do have (billions?) loads of pre-orders for hydrogen trucks. Manufacturing the vehicles isn't rocket science - lots of companies are manufac

Syncing data is an easier problem than what the parent is trying to solve. RSync is one such solution. If you want to run compute over big data, you replicate the database with a server you own and run compute on a copy of the data. Reali

If the songs the user has listened to would be stored on the client, it would be trivial to run code on the client to compute anything over that data, rather than expecting the original service to execute arbitrary code. You can move code t

It's the difference between a new tab vs a new browser instance - every electron app is a new browser instance with fixed overhead of 100mb or so. A new browser tab is closer to 10mb overhead.

Real estate. Great hedge against long term inflation. And a mortgage allows you to borrow 5X at low interest rates, with rental yields generating a profit. Example: you can borrow 2M at 2% (interest only) and rent out at 3%. Real estate ri

Not quite. The semantic web focuses on normalizing all data into a single ontology, which is great for computers but does nothing to standardize the user interface side of accessing data. Needless to say, it also hasn't gotten far.

Because you don't want to get an email every time someone hits <enter>. The UI is very different, an email client would have no idea how to treat these one-liners and you don't want to have your inbox flooded with messages.
