As the web matures around several core destinations, I find that Googling becomes increasingly less valuable. If you want to shop you go straight to Amazon. If you want advice you go to Reddit. Dev query? Stackoverflow. etc. The long t

US is a special place. Even Russia has better public transport. I don't think lack of public parking at a train station is a good enough reason to develop self-driving cars. It's easier to build a car park.

Thank God! Self driving cars are not a solution to the world's problems. Better public transport is. Why can't we have self driving buses that replace trams? The level of AI needed for that is already there. As the population of

By far the main advantage that London's black cabs have is the use of dedicated bus lanes. This often has a huge effect in rush-hour and translates in substantial time savings vs uber.

Imagine if every Mac OS app had its own design system, styling and component implementation. That would be a nightmare for users. Yet this is exactly how web apps operate today. “Websites” is this general term that is hard to define these

Sure, the HTML standard needs to go - it was designed for hyperlinked documents, not software. Components should be provided by browser/OS vendors with a standard look and feel, the same way desktop software has been written for decade
