Full disclosure: I'm the CTO at Nimia. At Nimia ( https://app.nimia.com ) we already provide all the basic features listed here. You can archive, share, transfer, preview, comment on collections of videos. Available right now

The question I have is, how do we get government to hire teams like this in the first place?

One of the things I like about Saltstack is that you can build your formulas using any renderers you like. You can try to remain strictly declarative in YAML, or if you like build your states completely dynamically in Python or a Python-DSL

Same here. We "inbox" everything from support, to social media shares, some analytics, as well as code pushes. Love the way Flowdock handles those items and lets you make reference to them while talking in the main thread.

Hi Yipit folks! It's Alec, from the Seattle Django group. We also developed something like this internally at Nimia due to the exact same use case: needing to access certain types of queries that didn't fit for haystack. Looks lik

Backbone requests return jQuery promises, so you aren't required to use traditional callbacks, but that may be a pedantic distinction. It is also incredibly easy to run all model change events to a global event publisher if that's

As far as I can tell, the area that you will have the biggest issue in node.js is if your data models are highly relational. Last I checked, there wasn't a robust node.js ORM for SQL data stores. Otherwise don't fret it, just get

I have been wondering this myself for a while. While I believe there are probably reasons you couldn't exactly map behavior of all of today's popular scripting languages into a common byte-code, you could probably approach somethi

I am still frequently getting errors when trying to sign up. Every few days I get a little further in the process, only to get a random 500 when performing some next operation.

Sounds cool. I have also been thinking about developing a ready-made Django skeleton with an architecture similar to this. Our publishing looks like this: Django -> Redis -> Express.js -> Browser Redis really just serves as our bri

We had similar hopes, but for now we will continue to use our in-house multi part uploader. We have to sign every multi-part request server side, using an auth scheme that depends on the key and the user. I'm not sure if it would be an

If the team is reading this thread: we cannot find a transcoding service that will output to intermediary codecs (non interframe codecs). We need to take 4k video in photojpeg, red, and prores and at least turn that into different resolutio

It's not a silver bullet, it's a method to keep your sanity. What often happens is you start with a traditional server rendered web application. Maybe you have a couple ajax-y interactions for speed or UI responsiveness and everything is ha
