Most businesses of all sectors use all kinds of techniques to maximise consumption from customers, some of them very shady. Billions are poured into behavioural studies of customers and voodoo tricks so people spend money on stuff sometimes

I don't see how I'm trolling here. For example, I run Spotify with an ad blocker, so I don't have to pay for it. And years ago, when they limited the amount of minutes of music you could listen to every month, I made tons of

I am a proud free user. When a service closes because of bankruptcy, a new one always appears. Or maybe two or three. So who cares? There's always a free alternative to every service, especially web ones.

I'm not familiar with that header, but by the sound of it, it sounds like it would be sort of a C struct with info about the ROM, not code. Isn't it possible that, if Nintendo had written the header in the ROM they're selling

Exactly, I don't see the problem here. It's their intellectual property, they can do whatever they want with it. Just because somebody else dumped it from a cartridge and uploaded it, doesn't mean they own any kind of copyrig

The 3DS can do that. They made an emulator that runs on it and they sell Gameboy games on the store. I know nothing about the pricing though.

Front page does indeed take that. But many links (comment pages) take around 3 seconds as I mentioned (generation time, has nothing to do at all with my browser) and pages with hundreds of comments (like most links in the default subs) can

I believe a data-driven approach has worked here specifically because it's a very very small country with a very homogeneous culture. If we multiply the population by 1000, and if we introduce minorities and other agents that increase

I think "stopping substance abuse" and "free education" are very different problems. The first one is completely social, at least, while the second one has a strong economical component.

That website is very heavy on JS, that's why it's unbearably slow. I remember having to use it on a mobile with 512MB of RAM once, it literally killed my browser (probably the OOM killer)
