I've just played with Backbone.js myself, though I have shared your frustration with getting the hang of it, and the quality of available tutorials and examples. I've learned to mostly get the hang of it after repeated references to the off

Sounds like this may all be resolved with the new improved fixed toolbars/page transitions in iOS 5.

This sounds more or less like Backbone.js. How does it compare to that? The name is amusing, but a bit silly -- "What are you guys using for all of your cool AJAXy stuff?" "Batman."

Any clue what the browser compatibility is like, and how well it holds together in older browsers? All they say is "only modern browsers in mind" -- but I see no details about that. If it holds together sans pretty effects that's fine.

Looks pretty nice. But how did this come out of twitter? I haven't seen half of these elements on twitter.com.

A lot of it is thanks to V8 I think. But an issue commonly raised with EventMachine (and gevent etc. on Python) is that many common libraries contain blocking code that you cant get rid of, whereas Node modules have all been programmed to a

"Also, the development time was unusually fast." That's surprising -- my impression has been that one tradeoff with Node.js vs. frameworks like Rails & Django is a lot more work to implement functionality they ship with out of the box -

The "Fork me on Github" is pretty common on a lot of sites (Github made those graphics), but that aside I agree -- I was thinking it was another Pocoo project until I saw the author. Looks like he just co-opted the theme (Pocoo might have i

Exactly. I've had a similar experience consulting, and wondered if it was the same for others... or if they're just loose with counting hours. The only time I've been able to rack up more than 20~25 hours is when I work at the client's offi

I think "support", for video codecs, would mean shipping with the browser. Adoption will be very limited as long as it requires a separate download and installation (unless the browser makes that seamless, with no admin password requirement

An employee's labor is purchased by the employer. A student in a university is not paid to attend a university however; the contrary is true. A student has far more claim on the works of professors than vice-versa.

My thoughts exactly. Much as I prefer the Python/Ruby convention of underscores, this is not the JS convention, and consistency is important.

TL;DR -- Mafiaafire redirects you to an alternative domain when the primary domain is moved or seized. So basically the DHS is trying to suppress a workaround to their domain seizures. I'm not sure they have much of a legal argument here th

Survey taken. I'm concerned that any competitive bid site like this will lead to the foreigners underbidding Americans, a la elance & oDesk. How will your service avoid that?

Does the Senate seriously think THIS is the sort of reform we need in the patent system? Are they that out of touch? The article itself isn't much better, it barely touches on the real problems in patent law.
