It's definitely a game. One that's rigged (and not in your favor), but you better do your best or you might not get a second chance.

Patrick has some great advice. I'll add my own anecdote: earlier this year I had an interview which required taking a plane. I decided to wear my suit on the plane, and it was an entirely new experience. I can't put my finger on exactly wha

I did the typical American thing and started mowing lawns when I was around 13 or 14. At first I had a single 20" push mower and had one or two lawns. Then I used our family riding mower. After I had built up some clients I took out a loan

At $work we signed for the Premier agreement. We're paying more than $10k/year but it's still reasonable for the benefits it gives us. There are ways to keep your map views down when they aren't essential to the page. :)

At $work in Australia, we went through this a couple months ago. After an initial quote that was beyond ridiculous, we worked out a much better deal with the local Google reseller. In addition, to help keep map views down we stopped uncondi

As a new customer of SendGrid, I'd be VERY interested in this. More specifically, I'd like to learn about possible integrations with Mailchimp and SendGrid. Sendgrid is super cheap and allows me the ultimate flexibility in email customisati

I'm not in the US, and I'm a white Caucasian, so it won't be any help to Amit. But when the Australian Red Cross phoned me up this morning to set an appointment to donate blood I also told them I wanted to get registered as a bone marrow do

For years I though Bezos was crazy and that Amazon could never, ever repay all the billions it had raised/spent. I was so, so wrong... I wouldn't bet against Bezos.

Thanks for the pointer to Trello. What an amazing yet simple tool! I immediately have a ton of uses for it. Thanks to the google account integration I had a new board in literally 10 seconds. Wow...

The GoogleWebmasterHelp has some great videos on things you can do to help improve your site rankings. They may be common knowledge to the folks here, but I think they will be an great source of knowledge for non-technical business owners.

I remember seeing mention of "A20" in old BIOS settings, but I never knew what it did. Today, I know: it enabled access a 64k RAM region.

Perhaps it's only obvious to me, but unless a corporation has great products that customers want to buy, the long-term shareholder value can only fall. Customers buying a corporation's products is a prerequisite to profits at said corporati

That is a great point. At $work, we're about to revamp how we do ratings. The idea was to only consider positive feedback, but maybe we should figure out how to include negative feedback too. But that brings up the question of how to avoid

Autocompletion is _the_ primary reason I switched to Chrome. It Just Works, even going so far as to learn it should switch from maps.google.com to maps.google.com.au when I type "maps". It wasn't too long before the AU site went from the se

My experience with TPG has generally been very good. I connect at 17-18Mb/1Mb and consistently download at 1.0+ MB/sec. Usually 1.4MB/sec, though I've seen it drop to ~800KB/sec. Given that your plan is 60% more than mine, I'll gladly pocke

That's certainly how it works for most Australian ISPs. And the off-peak times only run from about 02:00 to 07:00. I'm lucky enough to have an unlimited ADSL account with TPG, or my quotes would be a couple hundred GBs for the same cost. Lu

When implementing Sendgrid, I think I spent about 30 min reading over the DNS setup docs and 30 min actually creating the records. I'm no sysadmin, but I thought it was quite easy. Also, they have a free account which allows you to send 200
