My intention was not to cast aspersions on the author of the post, I was merely pointing out that an employee who has to write about his boss on an official blog can't do much other than sing his boss' praises. Or as you put it, there are l

No offence, but am I supposed to expect a blog post on the Company blog about working with the founder to be unbiased? Given that and the reverential tone, I am inclined to discount it. Bonus exercise: Replace "Zuck" with "Chuck Norris" in

How can I delete this submission or change the title? I changed the title on the actual post because it was obscure and hard to understand.

You are using an unrelated but true argument to make your case by attacking my supposed criticism of the visa rules. I am not criticizing the rules, only pointing out that the deportation clause of the visa has consequences on control. Yes,

IMO, What country you should be in depends on who your customers are. Based on my experience, as a startup you should be where your customers are. If I was creating a business targeted at people in my home country, I would stay there and ra

If someone wants to come to the U.S. and try to create a business and has it all lined out -- let them come! Has, what all lined out? There in lies the rub. If you let anyone who declares he is an entrepreneur in, the law will be a joke.

Speed up the EB-3 process and lots of people stuck working under a H1-B would quit their jobs and start their own businesses. Why can't H1-B's do that right now? AFAIK there is nothing stopping them from moving to an EB6. I would. I don't

This is true, but you are forfeiting any active management position, authority and likely control, which is basically the same as being fired as CEO. Not something you want to risk.

Isn't it true that it is $1MM in revenue within 2 years of getting a visa ? So you could apply when you had $500K in revenues. Also, I don't know for sure if the qualifying clauses for not being deported have an "and" relationship or an "o

I don't get it. The bill does not require the entrepreneur to have $500,000. It requires that the company raise a million dollars (and/or) earn a million dollars (and/or) create 5 jobs in 3 years AFTER the visa is issued. Now I am not a law

Are these ghettos as in "People of the same culture, living together like they did in their native land" or also as in "People of other cultures fear for their safety and are made to feel unwelcome here"? I am concerned about people stickin

My general feeling is that immigrants should be tolerant, hard working and individualist. The second generation should be integrated into mainstream America, rather than clustered into a ghetto. I am with you 100% here. The good news, if

Microsoft says it has reached more than 600 licensing agreements since launching its intellectual-property licensing program in December 2003. Wonder how much they've made so far from this new line of business.

Actually I have been on both sides of the table on an H-1B visa, so I am quite certain that I am not underestimating the cost of the H1B visa. The government fees are $2320 for a non-expedited application and $3320 for an expedited applicat

It's not a misleading interpretation of the data, it is a misleading interpretation of the purpose of the visa, and not necessarily by the authors alone. They are merely saying that a majority of the people who work on an H-1B visa, do not

Being committed for 1 year is very different from being committed for 4 to 10 years(as another commenter below pointed out). The "significant resources" amount to around $4000 for an H1B if the company files the expedited visa and $2500 (II

The study was called misleading by a spokesman for Compete America, a coalition of vendors, universities and other sponsors of H-1B visa holders. As someone very familiar with the visa, I can tell you the article is not misleading. Compar
