Yes, I was talking about an automated import. Having to copy-paste a link from email, or forward the email to the new network would be yet another barrier for a new user.

My comment was based on Mark's statements. The actual video is at [1]. Scroll forward to 1:26:30. I'll try to quote the relevant parts verbatim: Reporter: "Do you actually get your friends contact info as well. is any of the data in a forma

I think Facebook has designed this feature very carefully so as to make sure it doesn't make it easier for another platform to use this as a data import feature. First, the process to get your data is not "click a button and download" but "

Something else that puts this information in context is the number of public holidays and length of the workweek. Most white collar jobs in the U.S. are 5 days a week in the U.S. but 6 days a week in India, for example. Conversely, India ha

I think the real test of whether anarchy is preferable to stable government ('anti-competitive' or not), is whether Somalia is doing better than the United States. A perfectly fair comparison would require Somalia to be under anarchy for th

I think the key is not falling prey to popular notions of what the word 'introvert' means. Very few people are introverts across the board. As you note, you yourself are communicative with people who share similar interests. What may not be

Upon reconsideration, yes this was bad advice. When I read he is on a "work visa" and in a bad situation due to job transfer problems, I automatically assumed he was dealing with the worst kind of employers waiting to exploit him. Clearly t

I manage people now. I don't care if the general counsel of my company restricts me, if I have to lay off half my team (or even one person) that worked with/for me for years, I would find a way of explaining the situation, taking blame (whe
