Quite the opposite. There have been moments, when the mission is right, and you are aligned with purpose. You see it in glimpses outside of "jobs" (note I said "work" not jobs).

Why can’t I view GitHub on mobile without having to sign in to the app. I don’t want to sign in to the app; I don’t remember my password; I can’t be bothered to authenticate. Bad UX.

Work doesn’t have to tax the sprit so greatly; there is a way to work that gives you energy.

It’s not a mass communication problem per se. It’s that humans prioritise social instability because it could mean death in, or of, the tribe; the incentive to make sales, as your link alludes to, is the driving force behind co-opting that.

Censorship is not the best disinfectant at all;it had a fundamental issue: who decides what should be censored. Now you and I, hey we know what’s good and morale so that’d be fine. But when it’s someone else who is in control, as it will be

That started off like it was going to have useful suggestions, but then devolved into "me against particle physicists", and became a bit of a self-promotion-cum-pre-defence. I'd like to hear more about these suggestions.

Yes, their "3 months for 3" and then: oh, now you're locked into a paying 12 month contract was absolutely the last straw for me. Swore off their products.

I am curious, I’ve seen several people recently quite proud they cause environmental harm. I can understand ignorance, I can get you believe something contrary; I just can’t fathom why you’re pleased that you’re actively causing harm for th

Shut down the tesla factories then. Where did you intend to store all the energy from renewables?

I propose more funding all around. In one sentence you suggest funding one group without the expectation anything will come from it. And then the next you say we shouldn't fund one group because there is no expectation anything will co

You have me completely opposite. I have been vegan 7 years and have worked in environmental science for 10. Yes to solar and renewables, that's a no-brainer. Arguing against fusion because of that is not even a straw man. They are not

Hint 1: Nobody working on something isn't solved by not spending money on it. Hint 2: We should invest heavily in solar; they aren't exclusive. I am a massive, massive fan of solar, and tidal, and hydro, and wind. Hint 3: ITER was

You don't get them cheaper by never building them; the energy density of fusion is far higher than fission and doesn't have any danger of runaway chain reactions.

It's not like it's theoretical, it powers the sun; it's responsible for all atoms in the universe. It's essential for the long term survival of the species. "Grossly extreme cost"? Shell made more money than IT

"There's no net benefit to fusion." There's no net benefit to abundant energy... yes, I can't think of any.

Mate, I've read a few of your comments here. Are you some sort of anti-fusion shill? Physicist having fun with other people's money?! On top of the fact that this demo reactor costs a fraction of the development cost of the F-35

During my undergrad comp physics days we had to print out our code when handing in assignments. It was possible to grab a printout and photocopy it. I was fairly well known for my crass wit and I got an email from the head of comp labs info
