My Windows license doesn't feel "Open by Default", nor SQL Server license audits ... I like the guy, he created Mono, Xamarin, Gtk and co. But only a tiny subset of MS products like the .NET ecosystem are open.

Versioning is not going to fix go's namespace problem, unless the package manager does the aliasing, like in every other well crafted language. Go namespace feature is completely broken, URL shouldn't be namespaces. This is yet an

The story of Perl vs PHP vs Ruby vs Python is interesting. Apparently both PHP and Ruby were created because its authors found Perl too complicated 20+ years ago(!?). There is definitely a problem with that language (and I find Ruby already

Twitter is an infrastructure, not a protocol. Anybody can copy twitter but it's a bit more expensive to actually run it as scale. It took VC money, and a lot of it, which expects a lot of returns. There is already a "Twitter proto

Excellent. You can't just make things up for the sake of "starting a conversation". Either you report the truth or you're just a propaganda piece. I'm sure there is hundreds of real rape on campus stories out there

How about "worker queue" ? because it is exactly what is it. Obfuscating the details is silly. There is nothing new about the technology. It is only marketed as new (which is reflected in the pricing).

So you admit Go error as value is verbose. Because they are. The best system ihmo is Java's. If a method throws then IT should be part of the method signature and dealing with the error (try/catch) should be mandatory. The irony i

Neither the Java std lib or the .NET std lib do that though, they don't declare an exception as a static constant you need to compare with. Because it's (rightfully so) considered bad coding. Exceptions give you some valuable info
