Wouldn't that simply result in businesses paying as little as possible, which would then result in the need to tax the businesses harder?

He probably means using the ¨ modifier on a non-native keyboard. I do that daily after I picked up the habit of using Danish keyboards. For the record, it's a habit you get used to rather fast; nowadays I use the ¨ modifier for ä and ö

> we leased this line from AT&T at the blazing speed of 50,000 bits per second It's amazing that we still have a small number of people connected with connections that are slower than the first one ever, 50 years ago.

Burying the power lines underground does make sense to me, but I live in a quiet inland forest in an area that hasn't seen large earthquakes in recorded history, and I don't know anything about the area affected in this particular

"Space ship" works. :) It's fairly generic though. If I needed a more specific term for space planes like this, I'd probably go with orbital drone", based on terminology used in various sci-fi franchises.

Unfortunately, that still gives a far worse result than when just using a common value like 1920 x1080 x 24. I get that it's good to not report exact window size when the window's been resized, but a maximized window on a full-HD

You know how we've spent four years training users to expect https, by deprecating http in the major browsers? That's resulted in many, many people believing the padlock icon means the site is "safe". I expect that appli

Yeah, the translated VB functions in Excel are a nightmare, especially when one works in a multi-lingual workplace. If you haven't heard finns complain about things being in Swedish before, then I can recommend handing them an excel-sh

Yeah, this debate have spread to quite a lot of the threads on the mailop mailing list recently. It's simply one of those things one has to deal with if one operates an email server.

"site:github.com filetype:yar" usually yields a few good ones. It's probably easier if you're more specific as to which specific use case you have in mind. And yes, Yara is a godsend. :)

More specifically, I meant the ancient software of the future -- not the stuff that's ancient today. I am convinced that IOT + a large-scale acceptance of IPv6 will result in the Internet being one big battleground.

5G will likely increase IPv6 penetration, resulting in more stuff with public IP's, resulting in more stuff with ancient unpatched software vulnerable to attack. Why would Russia argue against technology that would allow cyber warfare
