Because mining rigs aren’t heating houses, they’re heating datacenters. Even if you did want to heat a house with a mining rig, they’re generally going to be mounted on a rack and providing a lot of heat to one room. And making a ton of noi

This is a perfectly reasonable use case, but also completely infeasible right now due to transaction costs - it could cost hundreds of dollars just to mint and transfer the NFT. Ticketmaster charges outrageous fees, but they’re nothing comp

Would you feel better with “demand in other sectors has been deemed more valuable and your business model may be unfeasible in the current labor climate?” Means the same thing.

Which FAANG has had their stock go up 150%? They’re all doing well, but even Amazon hasn’t doubled their stock since prepandemic. There are definitely more people making 1m/yr at FAANGs than their were last year, but I agree with other

A counterargument would be that cars cause basically no road damage and it’s all caused by trucks. Studies have put the damage of a single truck at weight limit in the US to be equal to that of 9600 cars[1]. [1] https://www.gao.g

You're breaking the anchor chain or housing in that case. The problem with just trying to pull the thing out is it's extremely likely to cause a leak and then becomes even harder to move.

Yes, except for the fact that 1st amendment protections would still exist. How much protection that actually provides is unknown and it would need to be litigated to find out.

Practically? float/double. You probably don’t need any more precision and maintaining easy interoperability is more important. Otherwise you just want the mantissa stored as an int or byte[] until you need it to be converted to a float

Just because you work a 9-5 job doesn't mean that all of your risk is tied up in the fate of a single employer, subject to their whims. For most people, if something happens to their current employer, they can go get another one! In th

A lot of businesses are impacted by the price of oil even if they don’t directly take delivery. It serves as a really valuable hedge for airlines for example, where it’s a key cost driver, even if it has to go through a refinery first.

I’m not sure it would be practicing good social distancing to do a ton of construction work to double capacity, but yes, now would be a good time to fill existing reserves. Even oil tankers are getting reserved to store oil for later.

You can set your own cert on the CDN though, and have the CDN request origin objects over https from the github domain. Since the CDN is the endpoint for your domain, you'll still be presenting a custom domain to your users.

While cryptocurrencies have been great (so far) for speculation, give how quickly their worth changes they make a pretty poor store of wealth. I'd prefer my cash to be worth in 1 year roughly the same as it's worth today.
