How do you deal with that? I always get mildly annoyed when my 4yo daughter does that, but I feel that is not the right way to go about this.

I can grow a solid beard but the itching of it drives me nuts after two or three weeks. Probably related to other skin problems :-(

Yours is the first description of pair programming that I have read that makes it sound reasonable. Your description is perhaps just common sense but it really needs to be said.

So are more instances of people with cells like these known? Considering the circumstances of the discovery I find that hard to believe. Otherwise we have been very, very lucky as a species.

I was thinking "27 years, jeez!" and then I realized I started with Basic when I was 10. I'm 36 now. I know so little yet :-(

Perhaps Xah Lee's command frequencies script is a start?

How does it compare to ediff? This has been my diff tool of choice lately but I'm always interested in improvements. note: I use Emacs for many other things so that specific point is not a pro or con for me.

No, they're easier to get into if you're used to Notepad .

Also don't forget Firewall iP off Cydia. You get notifications and can set permissions per app. Ah, I would never use a jailed iPhone. So much less usable.

I agree with most of your post and there's probably context I'm not aware of but bringing a printer to work to save 5 minutes (and more importantly: a walk) ?! A walk is good for you!

Or Emacs!

Sounds like a reasonable theory. All it takes is a moment of carelessness or not being up to date to the latest exploit. That said, we do step into fewer digital traps than a less technical person.

Anyone that doesn't rebind Emacs' awful key chords deserves all the RSI and carpal they get.

That's just not true. There has neither been a reaction of this kind for other "bugs up hacker's asses" nor has there been an issue this controversial for a very long time. I can't think of any... perhaps the Morris' worm or Kevin Mitni

I don't understand your point. If they hadn't disabled Wikileaks' accounts these jobs and people would have suffered how exactly?

Or they could just have not closed down Wikileaks' accounts in an attempt to brown-nose the US government. If they had resisted and only closed down the accounts after court orders the reaction would have been quite different. I'm frankly

Any language you could get working on the official server and you wrote a starter pack for would be supported. That's one of the nice things I like about this challenge as opposed to other competitions which are generally restricted to Java

The language used was only a small factor. I was the next Lisp entry ranked at #280. Programmer quality and experience are far more important.

I guess it's just a matter of experience then, I find Lisp pretty easy to scan through. So we can debate this until the end of time apparently. :-) With regard to Haskell the original post eloquently sum up most of my problems with it (and

Are you from a maths background? I'm not and having played with Haskell a little the syntax is a real turn-off for me. For me Lisp is a lot more readable.

You should have gone with your favourite editor + CLISP. Would have taken you 5 minutes and it would have been more than enough to get through PCL. If you're not already familiar with Emacs, save it and Slime for later.

I'd like to try DMT before I die, but even while living in the Netherlands I'm having a hard time obtaining it. I might try extracting it myself some day but I'm not much of a DIY in that respect and I'd probably light up my garden shed.

Qi / Shen. Having settled on Common Lisp a good few years ago I haven't explored a new programming language for a looong time (having gone through the phase of trying out a lot of them before that). However, recently I've felt the need to
