DNSimple has been in business since June 2010 and has just over 300 paying subscribers. I usually average 1 to 2 support requests per day. I may only get 1 to 2 pre-sales inquiries per week - most sales occur via self-service. I hand craft

My thought is you should consult a lawyer who has experience with intellectual property law before you do anything else. Bring your employment contract and employee handbook with you (if applicable).

I'm curious about how Lanyrd is going to make money so they can stay around and continue their awesome service. I love using it to stay up to date on conferences but I really would love to know that they'll be around for a long time.

Linode has been good for us. Reasonably priced and an easy interface for managing instances. If you need your own hardware then Newservers is good as well since you pay for dedicated hardware on per hour rate.

If you have any interest at all in encryption, authentication, security and/or DNS then this is one hell of a read.

Naturally the question I was left with at the end of the post was "Does this impact user conversion and retention in a positive way?" thus leading to "Does this impact revenue and thus profit in a positive way?"

Do you use a project management tool right now? Have you tried out the various PM tools available? Are you a project manager? Have you found irks in the tools you've used that frustrate you and that you've not found a good solution for? Ans

When it comes to software tools, the cost of running a small business is lower than it's ever been before precisely because you don't need a huge amount of capital to purchase "integrated" solutions. A small business owner can select the

You could even do away with is_a? there and just ask if the argument responds_to a particular method and then call the method if it does. I find myself doing more of this and less of calls to is_a? these days.

Quite an interesting post and metaphor. I'm sure that someone is going to complain and say you've got it all wrong, but I think you've found a useful way of thinking about programming at the macro level. I started programming as a "chemist"

We'll be adding more before this year is done. I think it's reasonable to expect additional redundancy for hosted DNS. I've run many, many services just fine on two name servers but I can appreciate the comfort of having more.
