What? This isn’t about the size of the laptop. The 2018 model is the same size. The T2 chip on the logic board contains the decryption key for the SSD. Therefore, if the logic board breaks (and thus the T2), the data are irrecoverable. The

Autopilot-bashing articles are becoming more and more popular as people love to gawk at accidents. I believe a lot of the comments on these threads are no more than online rubbernecking. When these things pop up, I'd love to know the a

I'm pretty sure it's because his strike price was far lower than the value of those shares. For example, if he pays $100 to get 20 shares at $5/share, but the shares are worth $100 each, he just got $2,000 and will need to pa

I think the gist isn't to match the outside so much as to set a pattern of turning on F.lux at the same time every day, to settle into a night-time routine.

Sure. I like my Echo, but it's painfully stupid quite often, and, while the speakers are pretty good, to me, they aren't as good as a high quality wireless speaker. It seems like Apple's build quality + Siri will result in a

It sure looks like a gamechanger to me. I have an Echo at home, and I've gotta say it's a bit limiting to converse with. At $349, though, they're clearly going for a smaller market than Amazon & Google.

I imagine it's a mix of mountainous terrain making it hard to transport launch vehicles to the top and most mountains aren't next to the sea (so the payload would have to travel over land, raising the stakes of an unplanned early

If you read the other parent comment in this thread, total expenditures on health care would actually drop by close to 50% overall (with a few fraught assumptions, of course). In the best/worst case, that's a $350B economic blow t

Yea, nobody seems to talk about it that way for some reason. If we 'save' on health care, it's either from making the system more efficient, or not providing care to people who need it. Maybe it's too complicated for a s

Mostly heat dissipation. Assuming you hold voltage constant, heat increases linearly with frequency. Also, as process nodes get smaller, you increase the # of transistors per square inch, so a jump to a new node can also increase heat gener
