Sorry, I didn’t mean my comment to come off so negatively. I do wish the team the best of luck and think that reimagining aspects of the fashion industry is a very worthy ambition.

A Shopify site would probably be a decent MVP... This is the second Launch HN in the last few days (the other being that macOS meeting widget one) that has left me absolutely baffled as to what YC saw/sees in it.

With so many of these widgets now (most of which are free and/or open source) I’d be very surprised if this doesn’t show up as a feature baked directly into the next macOS. I use Meeter. It was the first I came across and it is free. I

That’s great :) Scala.js has such potential. I hope that my next opportunity to try it out (versus TypeScript) will be a similar experience to yours!

I've not heard any British politicians say that lockdowns are free but I have heard the Chancellor say that any borrowing at the moment is cheap due to low interest rates.

Even as an engineer happiest in Scala almost forced to write Typescript, I'll be the first to admit that the Scala.js library is still a bit lacking in comparison for real world productivity.

Great project! I did a similar project 3 years ago to save the use of the great screen in a 2009(?) 24” iMac with a broken logic board. Learnt about LVDS and went the Chinese control board direction. First iteration was an HDMI cable poking

We were working on a travel app ( https://www.sally.guide ) in the UK but ran into trouble when the country's covid situation got worse and we went back into lockdown. We tried pivoting to Australia as it seemed that they wer

I'm no Pythonista but a lack of pattern matching is always the first thing I miss when switching back and forth from Scala.

I wonder if the customer service department at a large FMCG company would be so empowered as to send such a detailed response these days. I'd expect either no response or a generic answer with goodwill a voucher.

This maybe an odd workaround but I've found the Airplay support in Zoom screen share to work quite well. Not good enough for video, but very reliable for showing the screen of an iPhone or Mac.

Too early to tell. If you’re coming from a less well-off country and have the flexibility to take advantage of any post-Brexit easier immigration flux, I’d definitely take the risk and go for it. If you’re coming from a country that’s rough

I used to really like BMWs but they have lost their way in my opinion. Front wheel drive models, charging a subscription for Apple CarPlay, that 4-series grill, increasingly horrific customer service at dealers and foregoing their position
