Happy to see easy docker support. But I guess my ideal PaaS would be to just tap in a docker image from a private registry rather than running a Dockerfile from a repo.

Love my Watch S4 - I can stay connected without the distraction of all the phone’s apps. I would like the watch to become the main device, with the “pocketable big screen” relegated to an optional map, camera and web browser satellite-type

It seems that a simple analogy with cars can make any topic completely intuitive.

UK registered charities get Office 365 for free. In my experience it’s currently the best choice. I supported all the technical aspects of a friend’s charity in their early days. Originally set them up on Zoho for cheapness before they were

I haven't spotted scheduling features as yet but it would be a fantastic addition!

I'm not sure about speakers becoming microphones, but you can quickly select input and output devices by option+clicking the volume icon in the menu bar.

I use NextDNS on my iPhone to block distracting sites (and privacy stuff etc). It's quick enough to disable briefly for a false-positive but annoying enough to stop me mindlessly browsing Hacker News on the toilet all day...

Cool! I was just thinking that RxDB + Hasura would be pretty nifty for an offline-first MVP and here the legwork has already been done :)

Nothing’s noob-friendly if you begin with advanced features. Scala is eminently beginner friendly when introduced to developers familiar with OOP. This approach was how I first experienced Scala and it ended up becoming a gateway drug into

There's an app called Agenda that has a similar model to the one described. I think there was an HN discussion on it, but I can't seem to find it.

Have there been any that solve this problem?

I think this is referring to the poisonings in Salisbury in England in 2018.

Perhaps you could link directly to evidence of your FDIC insurance policy?

As a Brit not attuned to American retail banking I didn't notice the FDIC insurance element (aside: in the UK that's called FSCS Protection). Actually that's pretty huge for trust, great job :)

This looks really neat :) But I do wonder how well the Premium Bond (PB) idea will work when not backed by the state (NS&I, who issue PBs in the UK, is backed by the treasury). I would personally worry that my deposit will just be used

Very happy to help :) FWIW, I definitely can’t hear the fan with headphones on in non-gaming usage.

My 16 does run the fan when connected to external displays but I wouldn’t call it loud. You wouldn’t notice it over any environmental background noise. Even in a completely quiet room, it’s easily tuned out. When the machine is idling, with

I had a 2014 retina 13” MacBook Pro and upgraded to the 16” last month. To me the difference is “OMG” fast. Anecdotal evidence: I have a build script that used to take 30 seconds and now runs in 6 seconds.

I’ve had an interest in cars for longer than I can remember. Around when I was 8, my father would kindly let me drive the family car around a deserted (private property) car park as a treat. Basic car control was pretty easy to pick up. Avo

At first I thought this was the perfect counter-example. Maybe LinkedIn works because it’s used a lot by the small group that matters and pays – recruiters! I imagine they’re on LinkedIn all day long.
