Can't FB just point to a newcomer like Tiktok and give a counter example for network effect not being something that stops a new competitor? Also, how do you imagine a network opening up? I doubt FB and Instagram can be converted to a

Apple and Amazon seem to have ways through which they can be proven to abuse their position and can get decoupled through an investigation. What would be the play on FB? They own three large data silos but do they leverage one to gain compe

Companies still serving to HK might be screwed anyway. I was saying that wrt companies who had infra in HK which was serving traffic outside HK. It might make sense to not keep that in HK anymore.

This is just classic whataboutism. You should be careful of all of these companies as well. But you can't really equate the rule of law in both the countries in good faith. I really doubt criticism of Covid-19 handling lands you in jai

GCP and AWS both have regions in Hong Kong. If anyone was storing data for serving it to any place outside, I guess this might be a good time to shift it to some neighbouring region. Additionally many western companies have their offices in

This seems interesting. I checked and it seems Sigma makes everything in Japan. Amusingly enough all the well selling digital camera manufacturers(Fujifilm, Sony, Canon, Nikon, Olympus) are Japanese.

This has become so absolutely stupid at this point. I can even maybe understand this for future admissions. But from the messaging it looks like they want to deport students who came after a valid visa process. This is just absurd. I hope u

They will still need to ship the parts which depending on the part might be coming from SK/Taiwan/China but I guess they can still reap the benefit of probably reduced taxes because of local assembly.

This looks so amazing and I wasn't aware that Playstations are still manufactured in Sony's home country itself. I guess automation helps in keeping the manufacturing cost low. Now I am intrigued about what high selling electronic

His racing antics and desire to win at any cost aside, Schumi was brilliant. There were way less real time metrics of pit stop strategies, more variables like refueling and less sensors in the car. He was a master strategist and now with ea

I am neither a FB user, employee or stockholder. FB has taken a lot of steps which I would not support personally; but how likely would it be for FB's bad policies to get more fanned by the old media(newspapers, news TV channels, influ

The whole issue is about choice. If what Apple is offering you is worth the 30% cut they ask for, you will pay it. If it is not, you should be free to use your own method and take care of the details like tax yourself. Cross platform things

I really don't understand why people are defending Apple on this. It seems shameful of a $1.5 trillion company to do this to developers. Even more so when they themselves don't abide by their philosophy. They are extracting out a

I think I should reword my comment. How is App store revenue example of app being "high end". It just shows it is more profitable for a developer to be on iOS as they probably get 2/3 of their revenue from it.

But aren't they a dominant power already. Android can have 80% market share but the app store revenue reality is 2:1 in the favour of iOS.[1] Isn't it anti competitive for a new service like a movie streaming app to be at a compet
