Keep in mind that this is limited to the Safari’s traffic. The traffic from apps or other browsers doesn’t go through iCloud relay.

I doubt performance is better writing in C++ or Julia by an average programmer. Libraries such as tensorflow or numpy are highly optimized and pass heavy stuff to C, Fortran or similar.

It’s a good idea to enforce passwords for security. The features of backups done right are incremental backup, snapshot, deduplication, encryption and compression.

And, AWS offers a 5$/month VPS with 1 or 2 TB free egress traffic, coupled with affordable S3 with free egress, in a product called Lightsail. Honestly, it’s better than DO and Linode.

The use of relays is common when you connect to the VPN in the enterprise networks that often allow only outgoing 80/443. Also, you may not use the relays all the time, but you may use them sometimes throughout the day. If there is a v

That doesn’t prevent the deletion of backups and snapshots, encrypting the encrypted backups for a ransom, and using your account for distribution of the illegal content or malware.

Will there be ways in the foreseeable future to prove that software is free of vulnerabilities (using formal proofs and similar)? Because with all these vulnerabilities hidden in piles of code, the situation sounds hopeless.

It’s a well known quote attributed to Henry Kissinger and others. A professor of mine who did some entrepreneurship used to say academics are pussies in politics compared to industry people.

TrueNAS Scale uses Linux, and people are rapidly switching. I think FreeBSD version will be quickly unused, which is sad since it works well.

Heisenberg’s estimate of 180,000 people have worked on this project (130,000 did), that it’s done to quickly end the war and Europe will be under Anglo-Saxon control was good.

I don’t think it’s true in pure science. Like, building a team to solve the Riemann hypothesis would actually be counter productive. In experimental science, the number of coauthors of a paper has increased, but probably not the number of a
