Agreed. My Garmin fenix is one of the most useful things I own. It's just 'smart' enough in the ways I need it to be (mostly for exercise/health), and 'dumb' enough not to bother me with useless dopamine nudges

That's a boring, played-out stereotype that wasn't even true 30 years ago, let alone now. If you've never set foot in a UK supermarket I could see you perhaps still languishing under this delusion.

I find this astounding given your contributions. Feel free not to answer but how is this affecting businesses such as the one you work for? How is the rest of the Wordpress agency/consultancy community reacting to all this? It’s not a

The fact that any of the Wordpress community is standing by him at this point makes it feel more like Stockholm syndrome or a cargo cult than a healthy open source project.

There is a HUGE amount of spam content posted on this site. Extremely low quality stuff. As others have said in other comments, there is better coverage/write-ups of this elsewhere. In fact, it feels like an AI rewrite of some of those

To me, that is an absurd statement. Speaking as someone who has work in EU countries, the US, UK, and Australia, the EU was by far the best for “working conditions” (holiday, flexibility, benefits, overall working environment). I’ve never w

Sorry to hear this. I urge you to seek some kind of help and support for this, because what you’re describing rings of depression, whatever the root cause (even if it feels obvious).

Many, many years into my “commitment” and it’s been the best time of my life. And my partner’s, too. I’d do it all again in a heartbeat, even the tougher times. YMMV, but such is life.

Confirmation bias in my experience. “ChatGPT can write this email to investors for me!” cognitively balloons into “ChatGPT can replace my engineering team!” Quite possibly a dash of Dunning-Kruger Effect too.

For a buy-now-pay-later business, it has aggressive narrative-shaping PR that seeks to paint it as something more. And most tech news outlets seems to regurgitate it willingly.
