I wish Bruce was right, but the interception of so much internet traffic is hugely valuable to the US (not just security but commercial spying too). Therefore it will use all the leverage it can with its trade treaties etc to lean on suffic

"The Guardian understands that a total of 850,000 NSA employees and US private contractors with top secret clearance had access to GCHQ databases." 850,000 employees/contractors?? - That can't be correct can it?

Thanks for writing this, I'd be interested to read how you decided who to publish it with (and why you made it freely available too), and how sales went :-)

I've often thought the same thing myself, there's no need for everyone to have some super-accurate private list of articles (that then dies with a minute or two) - one shared list per minute for everyone is plenty good enough.

I suggest you start to prefer learning from people instead of insulting them - you'll do much better in life. At least learn to either be polite or keep quiet.

Here's a vote for cherrypy - it handles all the http / protocol shenanigans for you, but leaves the meaty business side entirely to you - which, as an experienced developer, is what I want.

The world of software and its ecosystem/environment, like the rest of the world, is immensely complex and not susceptible to simple analysis that can be summarised in an essay. Therefore when we decide how much attention to pay to someones

I'm not in a startup and I know nothing about LLL but I do know this: if you're firefighting and say that you don't have time to draw breath, and that you don't have time to learn the right way to get things back onto track, then that means

Yes it means that too but deriving from the sense I mentioned, i.e. asking if the person making the assertion would swear to it 'by God'.

I find that a stimulating comment because for me, not one tiny iota of what is good and bad about us comes from our genes. Our genes are the cards we are dealt with when we are born. How good and bad we are is seen in how we respond to that
