Re: Grooveshark logo - it is a design process documented alright, but the logo itself was designed by someone else and then cleaned up by David Pache of Helvetic Brands. Nowhere does he mention this though, which really rubs me the wrong

Not (B), the space is already over-saturated. Every second designer on Dribbble appears to be working on some sort of online collaboration / team management / invoicing something for telecommuters.

Depends on how many supernodes are Linux machines, which I would guess is quite a lot.

I'm guessing that people who need this sort of (rather specialized) tracking simply stick to the spreadsheets.

Wouldn't his technique require the listener to be sitting still and have his ears in exact specified locations? Not very practical then if that's the case. I guess the system can include some sort of (visual) ear recognition and tracking lo

Define "out of control" then. Rationality is relative. Russia is quite rational about its own policies (including the lack of enforcement in the OP's case), the exact same way the US is rational about its.

Does it not freak you that the holder of the largest nuke stash has recently invaded a whole fucking country on false premises, just to access its oil? Talk about being out of control, eh?

It does not need to be 1 KLOC/day :) The complexity of XML-RPC parser is about a week of work for polished code. Go from there, not from the given 7 KLOC of some implementation.

Beg to differ on both points. Ignoring the 7 KLOC metric (which is fairly useless in estimating the project value for the customer), $5K at $100/h rate of a senior C programmer on a contract works out to about 6 working days, which is a r

Vancouver is in a bubble of its own. Where else 2M would buy you a 70 year old teardown on 1/6 acre lot in EastVan-like neighborhood? Just talk to realtors, and they will furnish a metric ton of evidence that it's the Chinese who are drivin

The downvoting needs one simple change. It should not drop comment's score below zero until it has been effectively voted down to -10 or thereabouts, in which case it can be safely assumed the comment is a true junk and grayed out. I person

Cut down 2 months to 2-3 weeks and your offer will pass for a reasonable probation period, albeit free to the hiring company. Alternatively, and this is more in line with what others are saying, - say "free 2-3 weeks of probation period and

True, but the overall impression I got was that there is a design by a committee in the land of Gnome and MS is having hard time reconciling that with more structured development practices.

The ampersand is a subject of major fascination between type designers, and through that - the wider masses of graphic designers. See, for example - http://www.typophile.com/node/66611

Great designers are in demand. Time is their most valuable asset, so in order to get a piece of this asset they must be offered a form of compensation. They clearly do not need to be designing for "would look great on your portfolio" nor th
