I was able to find some RPi cameras on eBay for about $8 each, though they weren't NoIR. I also found RPi ZeroW for the official price of $10 (from pishop.us) and that combination worked well as an open remote cam for me.

It still astounds me that many people I know are unable to decouple the source of the information from 'Google'. It usually goes like this: someone I know will state some odd claim about some natural treatment for something, I wil

Agreed, same for eBay. The useless rubbish they push is just insane. I now look for OEM from reputable vendors or Anker if they make it for the device.

Facebook made it deliberately difficult and obfuscated to report violations as well. Twitter by comparison makes it relatively frictionless. I don't use Facebook except to follow some news sources but I now follow them on Twitter and b

Unfortunately the pre-installed cancer apps are pretty evil; the worst was the B&N Nook HD, which went online after every reboot and reinstalled any uninstalled apps. My first step for any new Android device is to root it to kill the ga

Actually, I was looking for video content. The idea was to take this machine and stress its bits for a bit to see if it was stable.

I should have considered it but I am not someone who streams live content so just a static playlist of music videos was all I was looking for.

Can confirm. Was running a playlist on a Windows machine with Edge as a cheap substitute for burn-in/stability testing. No dice: it would stop after every song with a ad dialog that required clicking (for YT Red, or for Chrome). Horrib

Not a question but a compliment for LineageOS: thank you for this project. It has brought to life and vastly improved over the stock ROM at least 4 devices that I use. Please keep up the great work.

Texas tried to make it mandatory in 2007, under Gov. Rick Perry no less. Unfortunately, a combination of anti-vaxxers and social conservatives sunk this initiative using a combination of innuendo and shaming. In 2011 [1], one observed the s

I had a Nokia N810 ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nokia_N810 ). It was a incredibly good device for the time and left other smart devices of its era in the dust, IMO. The lack of telephony is why I stopped using it but

I have visited Seattle a few times and I agree. I live in a transit desert and Seattle by comparison is 'streets paved with gold'. I tend not to rent cars during my visits now and just use the bus service as much as possible, with

It takes a bit of something-something in terms of communications, which I probably lack. I once asked a person (nicely, I thought) with BO, loud chewing, and unfettered burping to reconsider and he started screaming at me instead. Be carefu

I despise open office plans but the Regus approach was workable. When you work within a team in a room, the tendency for random noise was minimal. The only problem was noise leakage from other offices.
