I had a similar experience: with minimal negotiating we were able to get 50% off their initial quote. I also renegotiated our terms later within the contract period with relative ease. They pad their pricing pretty heavily, so don't be afra

.mov will only play in the Safaris, not even Chrome. Better to use a .mp4 and .ogv (or webm) if you're want to go pure HTML5 and have the best results across browsers. The mobile browsers have additional restrictions.

TC has never delivered anywhere close to 80k uniques for any of the projects I have been involved with. 3-4 years ago (first time I had a project covered by TC) it delivered ~3x more traffic compared to what I see nowadays (probably because

TechCrunch won't deliver 80k uniques. If you got 10k via HN then that's a lot more than TC has been sending these days.

Tip #0: Blast annoying popups in the face of your readers, then tell them that you sold your company for a million. I never made it to reading the article since I closed the tab after seeing that much. Spammy and tacky - no thanks.

First officers of larger aircraft do their training in a sim - it's just not feasible to do solo pattern work in a 737. With enough time in a realistic aerodynamic model + cockpit setup, on a modern aircraft (that has a high degree of autom

X-Plane is a great sim, but it lacks several features that helped to make Microsoft's sim so immersive and popular. X-Plane 10 is rumored to add AI traffic so you won't feel like you're flying in post-apocalyptic airspace, but it'll still b
