It's hard to notice any immediate benefit from a few minutes of sitting in an Aeron-class chair, but I'll tell you that after I got my Embody (upgraded version of the Aeron) every other chair I sit in feels woefully inadequate. Knowing what

Amazon has lots more than books, so signup for Amazon prime. It's ~$80/yr but you can split it with up to 4 different accounts (so find some friends and it's $20/yr). Instead of all those trips to the store you can now use a few mins of you

This American Life and Radiolab are great podcasts you can find online for free. No commercials, no pledge drives to interrupt your listening, and thought-provoking, interesting content that makes long drives go by remarkably quick.

I prefer Campaign Monitor. Their interface was easier to understand and get started with. Plus, MailChimp automatically filtered out a lot of valid addresses and I couldn't find any way to override that (for instance admin@site.com would ca

I regularly see gently used Aeron chairs on CL bay area for $400-450. Those of us who spend significant computer time every day really need to take care of our bodies. Prevention is much easier than repair. Consider upgrading your work envi

Rackspace is NOT a good place for bootstrapped startups. They are relatively quite expensive and the services they provide towards their low-end clients are nothing like what their reputation is commonly based on (higher end sites). If you'

You do realize that this is pretty much what record labels do, right? Only they call the investment an advance and wrap it up in a 360 deal. Within the past ~5 years, this has also increasingly become what artist managers do.

First of all, you shouldn't take the prices on wire services websites as the price everyone pays. In my experience, these can be discounted 50-75% if your account rep is hungry believes you can be more than a one-off client. Second, you sho

From many parts of Oakland you can be in downtown SF in less than 15min by car (without traffic) BART is ~10min into the city, and if you're nautically inclined there's a ferry from Jack London Square. Essentially: commuting from Oakland to

Shopping in Oakland is generally more "village-centric" than the big-box Westfield mega-mall approach. I prefer the variety and experience you can get with the smaller stores, though it definitely lacks the convenience of one-stop shopping
