I dist-upgraded to Jessie from my working Waldorf system (using now). It was a little faffy, but not too bad. One problem I've got is black internal borders on some of my menus (e.g. network-manager panel menu), but it doesn't aff

That £13k is a tax-free stipend. You don't have to pay income tax and some other things (e.g. an all student house pays no council tax). When you work out the equivalent taxed income that would reduce to that stipend, it approaches £20

This could change your life: https://github.com/junegunn/fzf It's a fuzzy searcher for Ctrl-r that shows all possible results, updating as you type.

You don't need nested lists: ['FizzBuzz' if x % 15 == 0 else 'Fizz' if x % 3 == 0 else 'Buzz' if x % 5 == 0 else x for x in range(100) if type(x) is int]

A hidden service is still centralised though, right? Given the current chasing of The Pirate Bay, I'd expect this hidden service to get the same scrutiny as The Silk Road. My take on The Silk Road was that whilst it was quite possibly

It might be that a blockchain is the way to go. Bitcoin lets you store 80 bytes with each transaction. Maybe that isn't enough for a magnet link and description, but you could use multiple transactions. Maybe there is more optimal bloc

Could a way around the centralisation be to encode the magnet hash database (like btdigg) as metadata in the distributed hash table? Then we just need a seed to get at this somehow, which could be spread around forums. Offload searching of

yes, but because the magnet link is a hash of the content it is only ever a snapshot of the magnet bundle.

Is there a syntactical reason why Julia can be fast but Python can't? Would it be possible to use Python syntax and get the same LLVM performance? (aside from the difficulty of writing a new interpreter) Put another way, does Julia sac

Thank you. Now convinced. I think I just found 'black' a bit jarring as a generic 'not-white' descriptor but now I see the use.

Pretty easy (`make install`). You need Cmake with ssl and a not-too-old gcc (>4.3). This should be the case on a modern system. I recently compiled it on CentOS 5 and had to build my own cmake. https://github.com/neovim&#

I agree, it would be technically difficult. My point is that there is a mechanism by which you could profit: false market data. Whether you could remain undetected and whether this could actually be implemented technically, legally or logis

You could intercept and then re-emit false market data, then trade against whatever position this puts the users of that data in. Whether you could do this, and do it without being noticed, I'm not so sure.

It's a thought experiment, not a critique of all scientists. I can definitely see elements of that straw man in some scientists that I have met.
