There isn't an active maintainer any more, I'm afraid. And Apple placed restrictions on modifying memory that contains instructions that prevented techniques the compiler relies upon for fast allocation of closures. There are id

It looks beautiful, but it's such a waste to bind the monitor to the computer this way. Monitors outlast many computers.

I was just trying to find something that took the other side. As I said, I take no position on these accusations. I simply don't know enough.

I've never understood the claim that Apple's UIs are better than others'. That wasn't true while Jobs was around, and it isn't true now. Apple Photos, for example, loses keystrokes every time I create a new album.

This could be great for my projects, but I'm confused about one thing: why does it need to push to a Docker registry? The Dockerfile is local, and each image is built locally. Can't the images be stored purely locally? Perhaps

SRFI* Editor here. I enjoyed reading this post, and wish I had seen it sooner. I'm a big fan of transducers, and would like to see them used more in Scheme. I want to respond to one comment in the post about the SRFI process: Unlike

After reading countless negative comments, many written based on real experience, but almost all tinged with fear, and even a few ad hominem attacks ("...not really experienced" and "...just more lispers?" Really?), I&#

My impression has been that people complaining about Lisp's parentheses are complaining about them because they are the most obvious difference between Lisp and other languages, but that they're not what is actually causing them p

I wouldn't have spoken up except for this comment. As a freshman, I took 6.001, the MIT course that Structure and Interpretation of Computer Programs was based on, and I loved it. As a graduate student, I taught 6.001 three times, tw

Bizarrely, I found the book Corps Business, by Freedman, to be useful. It's about how the US Marine Corps thinks about leadership. No, he doesn't tell you to shout at people. But he does show how they lead in more difficult cir

Yes, Scheme has the concept of exactness[0]. In most Schemes, (exact? 2.3) ==> #f. But at least the exact? procedure exists. It can tell you whether your result might have been affected by these problems. If you want perfect answers,
