For SNES - absolutely, if you get an FXPAK PRO and proxy over USB. It would be slooow, though, the transfer rate isn’t amazing (limitation on the firmware side, probably due to ancient USB standard?). Basically though - write incoming packe

The last three generally shouldn't be used (`+` is sometimes fine, but not really for formatting), but I doubt we would ever get a py4 that removes them, given the stomachaches that py3 caused. It does feel odd that a t-string is just

Currently working on scripts to provision a drive outside of the machine it’s meant to go on using chroot. I’ve so far accidentally unmounted /dev/pts several times from the host system and running docker inside the chroot caused

On the topic of interview prep - is it weird that I’ve never been able to bring myself to do it? I can’t be the only one, right? As best as I can tell it’s never really hurt me (okay, there was a Google interview I failed where grinding a f

In my model, the "current time" was intended to be passed in via arg, or gotten via a helper, failing that. Never system time directly. But also, yes - monotonic time only. Robotics code tends to never handle time jumping properly

This is great work - one of the rules for code written with Basis was not to use the system clock. I somewhat got around the network determinism by shimming out all network calls, and rather than going single threaded, writing a scheduler (

The last time I tried something more than Buildx that Docker itself put out the experience was bad - something about not properly caching. I'll have to give this another shot sometime, though.

I don't like the sandwich either, it's too easy to accidentally miss a dependency. What I find myself doing more is building one Dockerfile as a base, and then doing `FROM $BASE` in the second to ease readability, caching, image p

OMG https://docs.dagger.io/features/debugging - Docker hasn't supported shelling into a broken build for a while now, this sounds so nice. I see there's some Dockerfile support, I wonder if I can just use thi

This is very cool, I often find myself composing together a mixture of Dockerfiles and shell scripts for various images (build X Dockerfile for Y arch, save it as a base, build Z Dockerfile on top of the last thing, with W args). And then h

This worked out for me. What I was actually interested in was reducing CPU utilization, which generally speed is a fine substitute for (the same work being done in a smaller time slice means lower overall utilization). It reduced utilizatio
