Initializers for members are _always_ run in the order the member is declared - this applies even in constructor initializing lists, see https://en.cppreference.com/w/cpp/language/constructor#:~:te... - it do

Most arguments to standard library calls don't need to take ownership over memory, using a raw pointer or (const) reference is correct. Generally - smart pointers to designate ownership, raw pointers to "borrow".

This is kind of how The Locked Tomb series got around - "lesbian necromancers in space" has a sort of hook to it. :)

Yes, and? It's much easier to remove namespaces later using `using namespaces` if it really becomes a maintenance hazard than to go through and add them all back. This is library code that was intended to be included with unknown custo

That's better, yeah. I still prefer plain ole for loops, but that's much better.

When I first touched this around C++14 or so, I used recursion. It resulted in even worse code.

You could make a temporary or use some std::range/span helper. Double constexpr would work, too. Feels gross in the same way template template does.

I usually find myself putting parameter packs into tuples and then using `std::get` on the tuple to index. It's not perfect (will end up making copies), but has the side benefit of being able to additionally store the parameter pack fo

Even with fold expressions, sometimes you need the actual index. See here https://github.com/basis-robotics/basis/blob/ca70aee6daca37c... - I did use a fold expression, but I needed the actual index in the fo

I've done this with Twinkly lights, but the lights sadly don't have enough memory to run more than a few seconds.

Hey all. I'm shutting down my startup (if it could be even called that - no money nor equity changed hands with anyone), and transitioning the code to be less restrictively licensed. I could have written more - about timelines, about t

Vinay - would love to chat about what you learned about robotics. I am in the process of starting a robotics company (focused on software), and could use any advice you might have. Talked with plenty of investors, but talking to founders is

The second article is not saying that Alpine is right, only that it behaves differently. "Reasonable" stack size is pretty subjective - many workflows won't care about stack allocating megabytes at a time and could save RAM f

LuaJIT is pretty good, but some platforms might not allow it. iOS technically didn't allow it when I used it before, but Apple either didn't _actually_ care or just looked the other way.

This looks neat. Single step available - as far as I can tell though, no LIDAR, no wheels? Very arm/vision focused. There’s nothing wrong with that, but robotics encompasses a huge space to simulate, which is why I haven’t yet done my
