I gotta give it to them, it's insane how fast they're moving. In less than a decade they've gone from one highly niche electric supercar to a luxury sedan, a luxury SUV, a mid-range sedan, and a mid-range SUV. And in sales th

The Y definitely fills a niche: a $40k SUV. The S, 3, and X are all either not SUVs or not anywhere near $40k.

I left Facebook 3.5 years ago to start a startup and I'm quite happy. Software engineer and founder are two different roles, and it takes time to transition. Don't expect to be wildly successful in any short period of time. Launch

Join a remote company that doesn't pay solely based on location. eg. Zapier, Buffer, or Canny. ;) Check out Buffer's transparent salary calculator. https://buffer.com/salary/software-engineer/low . For an

Maybe you want to port some existing JS to another platform (eg. OS X, iOS, Android) where you want to run it natively rather than spinning up a JS engine and dealing with the bridge.

Hey Tyler, thanks for responding. Sure, I mean different forms of capital are better in different circumstances. So in which circumstances is the form of capital you're offering better than a 20-30% APR business loan? Asking as a profi

Yeah, sure. Just seems like paying a bank 20-30% per year is a way better deal than slowly bleeding 200-400% back to Earnest. You're paying WAY more money (read: 10x) for a more flexible payment schedule.

Yeah, that's pricy. They're definitely not going after early-stage startups then. But if you have a medium-sized data set (eg. 50+ GB), this is definitely competitively priced. More RAM, storage, compute than Mongo Atlas and Compo

I run a startup that uses both of these. Mongo is a heck of a lot easier to configure and develop with, and works great as a general database with a rapidly changing schema. Elasticsearch is great at solving specific problems like searching
