I wonder why all the clot victims are 100% female with J&J? Also, only 1/3 of Astra Zeneca clot victims are male: https://news.yahoo.com/astra-zeneca-vaccine-blood-clot-risk-...

Covid itself causes blood clotting in many seriously ill patients. A friend, who was in ICU in March 2020, was given Herparin (due to clotting concerns), and was told to take aspirin at home after release. Is it surprising that the vaccines

I love graphs (it was my favorite topic in algorithms) and I think they can be applied to many subjects to help us understand and visualize problems and systems better. In particular, I think graphs could really help network security monito

A better term than Luddite may be obstructionist. Hackers object to new technology due to their disagreeing with everything Cloud, Tracking, limited user rights, DRM, etc.

I think an allow-based DNS RPZ policy could potentially address this. If you could define the names that clients ought to talk to. It maybe a moving target, but worth trying. https://tools.ietf.org/id/draft-vixie-dnsop-

Going with what you know is not always bad. It is the fastest way to get something done (if not the most efficient). And, he did not have time to learn something new.

On the git server itself, can signed tags and commits be enforced in the repo's config file?

15 mins is the shortest I would want to go. Otherwise, your app is going to be perceived as slow (by your users) because it has to do a bunch of needless DNS lookups a lot.

I worked with a man who was fired due to this. He told me that he did not think Reagan would do it (nor did his co-workers). He said that many of his colleagues had to switch careers.

I sign my work-based git commits. I've been using GPG since the late 90s. It's not a silver bullet (especially when a git server has been owned). When you git pull, then do your work and git commit/push, if you are not carefu

If my source code still builds, does change matter? In my personal opinion, it does not. However, if I have to change my source code when a new release comes out, then it's an issue.

Yep. I love Go, but I am certain it would not be half as popular as it is were it not for those simple statically linked executables that can be deployed anywhere quickly.

Golang apps are super easy to dockerize (if you ever decide you need to do that). I build and deploy go apps to ECS Fargate with a simple Makefile and vim. And using Alpine means the final product is only a few megs larger than my go binary

I don't think Go gets the credit it deserves (from a performance aspect). I've had to rewrite a good deal of C++ code in Go and most of the time, the Go code runs faster.

Yes, most everyone knows that they can be tracked. The point is that we voluntarily paid/pay to build and maintain the tracking infrastructure. That's what most people don't realize.

15 years ago, if I had said that society would build a tracking system and that most people would happily carry a tracker in their pocket and pay monthly fees to support the tracking networks, I would have been laughed out of the room. But
